SCDA Instructor Bio
Name: Rob Stager
Occupation: GM / Partner with Vehicle Outfitters, General Motors accessory distribution warehouse for New England Region
How long have you instructed with SCDA: 20 years 1997 / 1998 back when Jeff Denmead and I were the same size. Tyler was like maybe four years old riding his Tonka Truck down the hill at LRP, Kevin 2 swings asleep under the Ash tree in turn 1 while we rip around. Back when Bill Prout worked for Callaway and Ian was getting a driver license.
Current Track Car: 17’ Corvette Grand Sport with three pedals
Daily Driver: 16’ Silverado Crew
Favorite Track: Whatever track I’m lucky enough to be on is my favorite that day.
Most Memorable Track Experience: Thinking we had just won six hour endurance race at the Glen I pulled into winner circle and started my celebration only to be told no. Really wish we had bought radios for that race. Budget allowed only for a cell phone taped to my chest with pit road on speed dial. Best part was Jackie calling during a heated exchange through the S’s to see what time I could be expected home.
What are your top 3 bucket list items: Run Ferrari Challenge during Montreal F1 weekend, catch a 50lb Striper under a June moon, payoff my house.
If you could have any superpower, what would you choose: The power to heal
Anything else you would like to share: SCDA is family
